A world without Bob or Michael would be virtually the same as a world harboring Bob or Michael. It is a measure of wisdom to know and accept that fact calmly, as a matter of course. Moreover, a world without humankind in its entirety would remain a world filled with life and breathtaking beauty, but there would be no creature with the intellectual and emotional sensitivity to appreciate it.
