…in our lives, our day-by-day and hour-by-hour lives. In our aboriginal existence, we were like our fellow animals, always on the watch…against hunger, predators, toxic insects or plants, unfriendly tribes. Who had...

I read of the recent discovery of a Bronze Age battlefield in northeastern Germany, in a narrow valley of the Tollense River. Meeting at the site of an ancient bridge, hundreds or even thousands of men fought and killed one...

Two nights ago I had a dark and lonely dream. Vague now, but it centered on my father’s garden, an anchor of my childhood home. At the beginning of the dream, my family and I worked that garden…turning the soil,...

My last post reminded me of something I stumbled on last year. A group of villagers on the island of Tanna in the South Pacific believe Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is a divine being. This Prince Philip Movement is only...

People seek meaning through belief, a major reason why they cling so tenaciously to belief, even in the face of evidence to the contrary.

“Other animals do not need a purpose in life. A contradiction to itself, the human animal cannot do without one. Can we not think of the aim of life as being simply to see?” (–John Gray, in “Straw Dogs:...

Uber-marionettes do not have to wait until they can fly before they can be free. Not looking to ascend into the heavens, they can find freedom in falling to earth. — John Gray, in “The Soul of the Marionette: A Short...

Read MoreYou can use this page to explore all my posts. You can search in three ways: (1) Click the Category that interests you; (2) Use the Search Box that appears below the list of Categories; or (3) Use the Archives below the Search Box.
Frankly, if you are looking for something specific, the Search Box is your better bet. Appropriate Categories are hard to develop, and they are sometimes arbitrary and inconsistent. Using Search, you can query on any term you choose.
Unfortunately, when you click on a specific post, it will bounce you to a different page to read it. You will have to use your browser's Back feature or the upper Menu to return here. Sorry, it's a limitation of this Wordpress theme.
Also, this theme does not truncate posts when you use the Search box. The result can be a long string of full length posts, which is cumbersome and confusing. I'll continue trying to resolve this issue.
Thanks for your interest.
